Arthur Gorson, Executive Producer
Arthur Gorson is a native of New York, where he established a career in music, film and concert production. His photographic work with artists such as Bob Marley has been widely published. He was lured to his current base in Los Angeles to take a position as producer for Dreamstreet, Inc., with offices at Universal and Paramount Studios. He developed feature film projects with Tony Scott, Taylor Hackford and Colin Bucksey.
Following production stints at RSA (Ridley Scott and Associates) and A Band Apart, he became a founding partner and producer at The Mine, LLC, (2000 – until mid-2006) where he supervised broadcast commercial, music video, and film production. Mr.Gorson is currently Executive Producer at Wild Indigo, LLC., and Creative Director at Obelisk Media, LLC.
Among his feature film credits as producer are: “Cronos” by Oscar winning director Guellermo Del Toro; “No Place Like Home” by Perry Henzell (“The Harder They Come”) released in 2019; “Better Watch Out” and “Road to Nowhere” by Monte Hellman; “Cabeza de Vaca” by Nicolas Echevarria; and “Night Watch” by Timur Bekmambetov. His short film credits include: “Roots of Reggae,” produced by Gorson and Wayne Jobson; and “A Filmmaker’s Odyssey” produced and directed by Gorson and David Garonzik.
Mr. Gorson currently has several episodic television projects in advanced development including: “Seek to Know No More” written by Michael Thomas (“The 33” “The Devil’s Double”, “Scandal”, “The Hunger”, “Backbeat”, “Ladyhawke”, etc.) for director Alejandro Toledo; “High and Outside” written by Paul Eckstein (creator Narcos and “Godfather of Harlem”); and “High Hope” with Jefferson Miller (credits include Oscar winner “Twin Towers”) and Chris Salewicz. The feature documentary “The Monty Alexander Movie”, co-directed by Gorson and Jefferson Miller, is in production for 2024 release.
Mr. Gorson has produced over 100 national commercials and music videos, working with gifted directors such as: Zack Snyder, Patricia Riggen, Dean Karr, Alejandro Toledo, Jonathan David and Anton Josef. As of 2024, videos produced with Dean Karr have received over 700 Million combined views on YouTube.
Mr. Gorson recently created over 5 hours of original material, with David Garonzik, for“The Harder They Come: Collector’s Edition” a 3 disc set for Shout!Factory (2020 release). Filmed content is streaming via The Criterion Channel.
His work has received international recognition, including: Silver Telly Award; Cannes Int’l Film Festival – Gold, Semaine de la Critique; MuchMusic Award (Canada) for “Video of the Year”; Saturn Award; Ariel de Oro; MTV Awards; Billboard Awards; MVPA Awards; MTV Europe; Kodak Music Award. He is the recipient of multiple RIAA gold and platinum awards, as well as the BVA (British Video Association) award for DVD sales.
